Art work
We have been staying at home for most weekends nowadays, unless going supermarkets, or to our parents’ places due to the stupid H1N1. It is causing fear in us as we know children under 5 years old are the 2nd high risk groups. We are not so worry about ourselves, but more for our nearly 4 years old and half year old children…
Anyway, as mentioned in my previous post, I have been trying to train Dash’s memory using back the Shichida’s method. So I was looking around for Shichida’s materials. I stumbled upon a great website by a Mummy who is so kind to share her self made shichida resources on her website! If you are keen, you can go in to take a look and print out too. http://ourlittlesmarties.com/ (Thank you, to Emily, the blog owner!)
These were what I did with Dash for this weekends, some art work, and I taught him about addition using self made dots cards and worksheet.
Pix 1: We were doing an activity book that required Dash to draw his family. I never expected him to be able to draw, but he managed to!
He could even draw his little baby sister by drawing her a bit “tiny”.
Pix 2: Matchstick art.
Pix 3 and 4: Learning simple addition.
Violet away this week
This whole week, didn’t manage to see Violet at all, cause hubby is on reservist, and he has to be in camp very early, so can’t bring Violet to my in laws place, thus we have no choice but to put her there for whole of this week. Violet is not like her gor gor, she recognises people, and if she finds the environment or people unfamiliar, she will wail…not like her gor gor, everywhere and anybody also can. Think when she comes home, she will wail when she sees me again…ha!
Sad, miss my dear girl, but it is also good, cause this whole week, my whole body is not too good. I have sore throat and slight cough, and the worse part is now, my whole body is having this burning feeling, though I don’t have fever! I really don’t know what’s wrong with me. I went to see doctor twice, and he just gave me normal flu medicine, and one day MC. But my whole body is still having this burning sensation…:( I still must go back to work tomorrow (today I got the MC and rested).
Anyway, with this H1N1, I am quite fearful…I do not want to go around spreading to everybody. But it seems like the doctors are not really so concern with you getting H1N1 if you are a healthy person, but who knows whether a person is really very healthy if that person doesn’t do yearly checkup? Worse, what if that person goes around spreading to young babies and others at risk?
I do not really like the passive role plays by MOH now.
Just hope this H1N1 will be over soon…but the news said it will peak these two weeks! sigh…
Violet is 6 months old today!
Violet is 6 months old. Time flies. She is able to crawl backwards and turns herself around, walks around in walker slightly and is starting on solid food like porridge. But she has yet to chuckle out loud. I think it is really because I was too depressed during pregnancy as I was confined at home and worried to death everyday, so that is why she is also a not so happy baby. haha…
Update on Cherie Hearts
Dash is enjoying himself in Cherie Hearts. He seems to be adapting quite well in there. I am still trying to get used to the walking distance though. It is about 20-25mins from my house! Although I can take LRT, but I am lazy, cause I still need to walk quite a distance to take LRT, might as well walk all the way.
For Cherie Hearts, they will let children bring back the work they have done for parents to see every fortnightly, which I think is good, as in the past, I only got to see what Dash had done during meet parents session. There is also a communication book for teachers to communicate to parents and vice versa, and the book is checked on daily basis. I find the book very useful, as sometimes I don’t have time to talk to Dash’s teacher (by the time I fetch him, the teacher may have left already), and this book sure comes in handy.
I have let Dash joins the speech and drama program runs by the children repertoire pte ltd, and ordered packets smoo milk for him in school.
Hopefully, he will have fun learning in school, and falls sick less often there…keeping fingers cross.
