Lately, Dash’s teacher is stressing me, telling me to read to him and to teach him to recognise words, well…it is not the English teacher lor, it is the Chinese teacher who is stressing me (so embrassing to say that being a Chinese teacher myself!). Every 5 weeks, she will introduce one Chinese storybook to the children, and they must learn to read and recognise specific words in the book. Well…obviously, Dash could not do so, cause he was most of the time absent from school or brought home early (cause I am rather free now), so he didn’t manage to read much of the book. But anyway, everytime the Chinese teacher sees me, she will tell me “Wei Han, tells your mummy to read the book to you at home, must jia you.”

I told Daddy about this, and he got a bit stress too…haha. I am thinking, next time when Dash goes to Primary, I will get even more stress…

Recently I have been thinking, most probably if I have not gone crazy and is still teaching 2 years later, I will send Dash to the same school as that I am teaching. Used to think it is a bad idea, but now, comes to think of it, it isn’t that bad afterall, I can get very prompt feedback from his teachers (who are my colleague), and also, I will know what is happening in school, if he tells me he has to stay back for whatever reason, ha! I can always find out whether he is telling the truth!

I will be going back work in another 2 weeks time (wow time flies! My last maternity is going to end soon, no more such privilege and I still have an excess 10kg with me, sob!!!), so I decided to go and relax before I am back to my busy life.

I booked a weekends stay at Hotel InterContinental. Dash loves going for Hotel stay. He will always ask us to bring him to “mei mei de fang jian (beautiful rooms)”. Haha.

Anyway, we just did some shopping, ate dinner with my Mum and sister (to celebrate Mother’s day in advance), and relaxed in the hotel room.

Recently, I bought some wall stickers. I love decorating the kids’ rooms. This time, I pasted some wall decors in Violet’s room (well, supposedly to be her room, but now is used for playroom cum storage room).

Brought Dash to try out a free Art Lesson at a person’s house. The person conducts art classes at her own place in Hougang. Dash loves doing art. But sadly, her timing does not suit us. She only conducts lessons on weekdays afternoons or evenings. I am in the afternoon session, so can’t bring Dash over. I guess only during school holidays, then I will be able to let Dash join her classes.

She taught them how to draw Giraffe.

Dash saw this Dora plate, and wanted me to buy for him. I told him to buy mcqueen plate instead, but he insisted on Dora. Aiyo, like a girl leh. But he does like to read Dora storybooks, and I find them interesting too, so I bought a whole set of 20 books from overseas.

Anyway, since I bought the plate liao, so I decided to make use of it. I cooked a very simple meal and put them nicely on the plate for Dash. haha.

I also saw this musical toothbrush at kiddy palace so I bought for Dash as well. He always doesn’t have much patience when it comes to brushing teeth. So I hope this toothbrush will get him to use more time to brush his teeth. It can play music (old mcdonald song) for 60 seconds, so it will help the child to time, brushes 1 minute on top teeth, and brushes 1 minute on bottom teeth (the dentist recommended time). When the battery uses up, that means it is time to change the toothbrush.

I tried the musical toothbrush on Dash at night, he enjoyed it and didn’t mind opening his mouth for me to brush his teeth till the whole music stopped. He even told me “I want somemore”. Hope his interest will last.
