PostHeaderIcon Dance, anyone?

dance-wince

I have signed Dash up for Dancing lessons at Sengkang CC. It is called “Dancepointe Creative Movements ” and is for kids from 3-5 years old. It will be held on every Saturday starting 21st March, 11.50am. Anyone interested too?

Initially I wanted to sign Dash up for swimming lessons, but the instructor says that Dash is too young and will only take him in July. So I found a Dancing course for him…hope he is not the only boy there…haha.

The class content is as below:

For kids (3 to 5), through the use of familiar nursery rhymes along with catchy melodies, we incorporate interesting themes such as music appreciation and creative movement in our dance exercises to capture each child’s imagination and unique sense of expression. It also encourages body coordination together with the music rhythm. In addition, simple classical ballet steps are introduced in the exercises. These would help children develop the foundation and motivation to make the smooth transition to the next level of classical ballet easily.

ONLY FOR Children 3-5 Years Old. MUST be 3 years already before registering for class.

PostHeaderIcon Words Recognition

I was reading one of the sets of books from Red Rocket Series to Dash yesterday. At the back of the books, there are key letters/words from the stories. I went through the words with Dash as he was rather interested, but before I read out the words to him, to my surprise, he could recognise some very simple words like “on, to” although I did not teach him those words. I think children really pick up things fast on their own. I must read more to him, so that he can pick up more words.

Hubby said Dash was quite interested when he saw this showing at Popular, so I bought the set for him (of course, not brand new, I bought from one mummy). Hope he can pick up more knowledge from the Dvds. Even if he is not interested, I can still show it to my students when I go back to teach…hee.

PostHeaderIcon Craft punchers

Bought this some time back but did not try it out with Dash. Today, I decided to let Dash try these craft punchers. But I realised these craft punchers are not easy to punch at all! Anyway, eventually, I did most of the punching and Dash just did the pasting which was a bit messy as the different shapes that were punched out were so small.

PostHeaderIcon Trip to Jurong Bird Park

We went to Jurong Bird Park after Dash music class yesterday. Recently there is this promotion from Singapore Tourism Board, if you are among the first 2009 people who flash their sms during each weekend in February,  you will be given free tickets. We happily thought we would be able to get the free tickets since it was only Saturday and we reached there around 11am plus. But to our horror, when we reached there, the tickets were fully redeemed. So how? We had travelled all the way from Sengkang to Jurong, and Dash was already very excited about the Bird Park, so we die die had to get the tickets. In the end, we paid $39 for 2 adults and 1 child tickets, with $2 off for each ticket (promotion also from STB). Great marketing strategy from STB I would say, cause I believe a lot of people also buy the tickets eventually like us when they can’t get the free ones.

Here are some photos (please focus on the kids rather than this FAT mummy).

Before our trip, we took some photos at home. Can you see our family wear? We are the Mickey family! Our little girl is born in year of rat, so recently, I took an interest in Mickey Mouse stuff.

We had our lunch at Bongo Burgers in Bird Park, total damage $40 plus.

Finally into the Bird Park, it was so tiring and boring walking around the park. To us, all birds are birds. We do not know how to appreciate their differences. Somemore, there are a lot of steps around, and we were pushing stroller, so we missed seeing a lot of birds due to that. Dash was not that keen to see birds as well, as he could not recognise most of the birds. I think we won’t be going Jurong Bird Park anymore in the near future.
