Bouncing kids indoor playground (in northeast)
The Bouncing kids indoor playground is a newly opened playground situated near to kovan mrt at Block 206 Hougang Street 21 #01-K2. Actually, it was introduced to me by a friend of mine whose husband is a Co-owner there. It is something similar to other indoor playgrounds like Explorer kids Or Polliwogs etc. However, personally, I love this place more as the structure of the playground is not as complicated and the kids can climb up and down, run here and there easily. The ball area and climbing area are all near to each other, so while Violet is playing over at the ball area, I can still watch over Dash. Most importantly, it is located in the neighbourhood, so it is not as overly crowded as other indoor playgrounds.. There are strict hygiene practices there, like taking temperature, washing, as well as sterilising hands and wearing of socks. The prices are reasonable as well, just pay $10 for one time membership, and thereafter you just need to pay $9 per entry for each kid during weekdays and enjoys unlimited play (weekends $12). Or if you do not want to be a member, just pay $12 per entry during weekdays and enjoys 2 hours of play (weekends $15). There is small eating area next to the playground, so you can enjoy a drink or some snacks while letting the kids play. Overall, the kids had fun over there, and really sweat themselves out for the full one and a half hour which we spend over there (cause need to rush to town to collect tickets from a mummy). We will definitely go there again! Friends and colleague who are staying northeast, and do not want to travel too far, do bring your kids to the indoor playground to have fun! It’s opening hours is from 10am – 9pm.
Trial at Global Art
Brought Dash for a trial at Rivervale mall Global Art since it is September holiday now. Anyway, the trial was about half an hour and free of charge. However, I did not really get it for free cause I took a cab there (initially wanted to take LRT, but forgot my camera and left in the school, so got to rush back to school to take, sigh…). Anyway, the person who conducted the trial was a mummy I got to know from the baking classes I brought Dash before at Rivervale CC. She is the co-principal there. wow! Anyway, she just asked Dash to use crayons to color the orange in order to determine how good he is with coloring. She told us that Dash will be in Foundation level 1 class, and will learn mainly about colours blending during the 1 and 1/2 hour lesson, and for the last half an hour, simple cartoon drawing. Well, coloring is important, especially how to color nicely, but honestly, I feel that it is not really what I am looking for in an art class (I know Dash will be quite bored after coloring for some time), so I guess, I will still let Dash carry on with his art lessons at Sengkang CC.
The first orange was colored with help and demonstration from the Global Art principal (with colours blending), and the lower orange was colored by Dash.
A love for books…
I am somehow glad that both of my kids love books. They are willing to read books. Violet could be quite rough with the books though, unlike Dash who was more gentle with books when he was a young toddler. But anyway, Dash is finally into the stage whereby he can read simple books on his own, though he still wants you to read to him, and for Violet, although she can’t really understand and doesn’t have the patience to hear you finish the story, but she loves to take books to flip and flap, and listens to you talking about the pictures (you can’t tell a story, she doesn’t have the patience lor). So in our house, books are everywhere, in the study room, in Dash’s room, and in our master bedroom. I hope Dash will be like yunma’s darling girl soon, stop asking for toys, and ask for more books instead. hee. But I will definitely buy more books and less toys from now on (yah yah yah, I will try ok!). I hope both my kids will always carry in them this love for books…
Happened to capture a photo of the two kids sharing a book with my handphone.
